From 23 April to 26 June 2016, modern and contemporary local art is being featured at Palazzo Te.
Thanks to the collaboration between the Museo Civico di Palazzo Te and the new Centro Internazionale di Palazzo Te, over 300 works by Mantuan artists of the late 19th century and the 20th century that have been kept in the storage at the Museo Civico di Palazzo Te will be exhibited to the public at the prestigious Fruttiere.
The exhibition is curated by Stefano Arienti, who is also an acclaimed Mantuan artist who lives and works in Milan.
He has create the artistic staging to present the collection.
This rich collection of paintings, sculptures, and drawings is the result of more than fifty years of donations from artists and their families and heirs.
Therefore, this exhibition will be a unique opportunity to rediscover the civic spirit that has generated the collection as a whole, while retracing the profile Mantuan art from the end of the 19th century up to the present.
The exhibition will also feature works that contemporary artists have donated one or more pieces to the Municipality of Mantua.
