Guided tour of the Rocca located in front of the parking lot at Campo Canoa.
The remains of a circle of fortifications that protected the satellite village of San Giorgio since the late Middle Ages, the structure was originally known as "Rocchetta di San Giorgio” and has been called "Rocchetta della Sparafucile" only since the end of the 19th century.
After the successful opening events held last April for the year of Mantua Capital, the “Cantieri Aperti” event is back.
It is organized by the Municipality of Mantua in collaboration with the GAM Guides (Mantua’s authorized guides) and the Associazione Amici di Palazzo Te e dei Musei Mantovani.
Five extraordinary openings are scheduled, during which it will be possible to visit Palazzo del Podestà, the Rocca di Sparafucile and the Torre degli Zuccaro.
Visitors can expect an extraordinary journey to discover historical places that are not usually accessible to the public.
The tour will be headed by tourist guides authorised by GAM and volunteers from the Associazione Amici di Palazzo Te.
