Torre del Podestà or Torre delle Ore

At 47 metres in height, it stands at the right hand corner of Palazzo del Podestà, and contained both the bell to call citizens, and cells to contain prisoners.
On one side, the clock and coat of arms of Podestà Ginori - dated 1494 - are still visible.
Also known as the "Torre delle Ore" [Tower of Hours], it is not to be confused with the Clock Tower in Piazza Erbe.
Over time, it was used as an observation point as well as a prison.
It is not open to the public, and for years it has been awaiting refurbishment.
It is currently surrounded by scaffolding, while work is being finished on Palazzo del Podestà.
