Museo Archeologico Nazionale di Mantova

The National Archaeological Museum of Mantua is located in Mantua, and collected material was recovered in various excavations and through research all over the territory.
The museum contains an exhibition of objects ranging from the Neolithic period and the Bronze Age, through the Etruscan, Celtic, Roman, medieval and Renaissance periods, and all materials were found in the province of Mantua.
Since 11 April 2014, two Neolithic skeletons found near Valdaro (near Mantua) in 2007 were put on display permanently inside of a glass reliquary[2].
The “Lovers of Valdaro” got their name because the two skeletons, a man and a woman, were found embraced.
